Hello,
My name is Glenn Tienstra
and I am currently a Homewood Village Trustee. I want to thank you for
visiting my web site.
After four years of serving
on the Homewood Village Board I chose to run as an Independent
candidate during this past election, and I consider it a great honor
that the residents of Homewood have entrusted me with the future of our
Village. I hope you will click on my “Positions
Page” to see how I feel about some issues at this time.
Among
many reasons for running for this office, first and foremost was my love of this
Village. I have lived here my entire life along with my parents,
grandparents, great-grandparents and now my own family. I’ve had a very
good life living in this Village and it is my responsibility to give
back. As you can see from my “Positions Page” I have some unresolved
issues. However, I look forward to assisting with new issues as well as
bringing ideas of my own that I think would benefit this Village. I am a
big “quality of life” person and public safety is paramount. I would
continue exploring new ways, as well as listening to residents, in the
continuation of keeping Homewood the great Village that it is.
I have been a public
servant for over 17 years in law enforcement. I always pride myself that
I can put aside my personal bias and opinions in making decisions that
are fair to all. You can never please everyone but if you are fair you
will at least earn respect. I also can separate personal from
professional. Just because I may disagree with someone doesn’t mean I
dislike them. By being a current elected official it is my
responsibility to do what’s in the best interest of all. I have no
problem standing alone if need be when doing what’s best for the
Village.
It is truly an honor,
privilege and pleasure to serve you, the residents of Homewood.
